On Frozen Pond – Pandapas Pond in Winter

The temperature increased and as the 12-inches of snow from the previous week began to melt for many the place to spend a sunny, warm, winter afternoon was Pandapas Pond.

Located just 6.8 miles from Virginia Tech, Pandapas is a favorite place to walk, hike, run or stroll along the one-mile wheel-chair accessible loop that encircles the pond. Students, visitors, and families (and dogs) all enjoy the tranquil beauty of this part of the Jefferson National Forest. Parking and access are free. Pack a lunch and enjoy the day!
